Shipping 

Once you’ve placed an order, you will receive an order confirmation email. If you do not get a confirmation email, please check your spam folder. 

When your order ships, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with the tracking number. Changes or cancellations to your order can not be made after 24 hours. 

* Please note that some baskets can take up to 4 weeks to create and ship. 

Other shipping notes: 

  • We can not put special instructions for UPS or USPS on boxes. 
  • No changes can be made to your order after 24 hours, including the shipping address. 
  • We do not offer express or overnight shipping. 
  • If you have multiple items in your order, they may ship separately. 

Shipping Time Estimates

Because we are a small business and we operate with a small team, it can take up to 5 days to process your order regardless of the shipping method you choose at checkout. Once the order is processed, we ship using the method you selected. Most orders take 7-10 business days to arrive at your location via UPS.  

We ship Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We do not ship on weekends or nationally recognized US holidays.

Please allow four weeks to create and ship the our made to order storage baskets. 

Tracking Your Package

Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with the tracking number. It may take up to 48 hours for the carrier to update the tracking information on their website. 

International shipping 

We currently ship to Australia, Canada, England, France, Italy, Portugal and China. Please allow up to 5 days to process your order and up to four weeks to ship. 

All orders will be shipped via UPS, unless UPS doesn’t deliver to your area. If UPS is not an option, carriers will be selected based on the most efficient delivery route. 

  • Cost:
    • Shipping costs are generally determined by dimensional weight and location.
    • Shipping rates are the lowest available. We are unable to offer any lower rates than what is listed at checkout. We do not offer free shipping on international orders.
    • Shipping rates include insurance unless otherwise specified.
  • Customs, Duties, and Taxes:
    • Expedition Subsahara does not determine, assess, collect, or estimate duties and taxes assessed by the country of destination. All fees are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in shipping rates
    • Expedition Subsahara cannot be held responsible for packages held in customs or for any customs duties or brokerage fees owed. If the package is rejected and returned to us, no refunds of any kind will be given. 
    • We do our best to pack orders together. However, on orders that require split deliveries, separate fees will be assessed for each delivery.

Returns

We want our customers to be completely satisfied with their purchase. If you are unhappy for any reason, we accept returns for store credit within 14 days of delivery. Products must be unused, unwashed, and in their original condition with the tag and packing materials included.

All returns, including exchanges, will be processed as store credit, which can be used at any time and doesn’t have an expiration date. We do not offer refunds or cancellations after 24 hours from the original purchase date.

Once your item is returned to us, please allow 7 business days for processing. You will receive an email with a gift card code to be used as store credit. 

Customers are responsible for return shipping and handling charges. Please provide a tracking code for returns so that proof of delivery can be verified. No returns or exchanges will be processed after 14 days have passed.

Please note that after 24 hours of ordering one of our storage baskets, the creative process begins and all cancellations are refunded via store credit.

All sales or discounted items are final. 

Damages 

Damage sometimes occurs in the shipping process, though we do our best to make sure all items arrive in perfect condition. 

If you happen to receive a damaged item:

  • Report it within 48 hours of receiving the item. Please email info@expeditionsubsahara.com right away. 
  • Include photos or a video of the damage with your email. We will arrange replacement or return of the damaged item. 

Each basket is made by hand and variations occur in the colors used in the basket and handles. We don’t guarantee certain colors or the omission of colors in any basket. Handmade product by their nature are not "perfect" but those imperfections are what makes them special and are not considered damage. 

Final Sale

All discounted products and sample sale goods are final sale. We don’t often have sales or offer discounts, but when we do, those items are final sale.

Our annual sample sale is one of our most popular times of the year. We offer limited edition and small batch items with deep discounts. These items are either samples we chose not to carry or goods that were used in shoots. As such, some items may have minor damage that would not impact its use. 

All sample sale items are final. No refunds, exchanges or price adjustments will be made.
